BRASSTOWN, NC (March 26, 2018)-The 2018 season openers for the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will be on Friday and Saturday March 30-31 at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Ga. Friday's show will pay $3,000-to-win while Saturday's event pays $10,000-to-win. The weekend will be presented by Textron Off Road and Sunoco Race Fuels. The double-header weekend will open the sixth season for the Spring Nationals Series.
There will be an open practice on Thursday March 29th to open the weekend from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. Pit passes are $20.00 for practice and general admission is free.
Friday's show will feature the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series Super Late Models racing 40 laps for $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start. In addition, the Crate Late Models, Limited Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby and Mini-Stock divisions will be on hand. The pits will open at 4:00 pm, the grandstand gates will open at 5:00 pm, hot laps and qualifying will be around 6:00 pm and racing will be at 7:30 pm. Adult general admission is $20.00 per person and adult pit passes and trackside tickets are $35.00 per person.
Saturday's show will feature the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series Super Late Models racing 60 laps for $10,000-to-win and $500-to-start. In addition, the Crate Late Models, Limited Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Bomber, Mini-Stocks and Hot Shots will all be on hand. The pits will open at 4:00 pm, the grandstand gates will open at 5:00 pm, hot laps and qualifying will be around 6:00 pm and racing will be at 7:30 pm. Adult general admission is $25.00 per person and adult pit passes and trackside tickets are $40.00 per person. There will also be an Easter Egg hunt for the kids.
In March of 2017, the Spring Nationals Series visited Senoia Raceway for a double-header weekend with Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga. taking the Friday Night event victory over Dale McDowell, Donald McIntosh, Casey Roberts and Brandon Overton. During Saturday's action, Donald McIntosh picked up the big payday over Brandon Overton, Dale McDowell, Casey Roberts and Mike Marlar. Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga. went on to capture the series title in 2017. Former Series champions include Steve Casebolt in 2013, Billy Ogle Jr. in 2014 and Donald McIntosh in 2015 and 2016.
The tire rule for the Senoia Raceway/Spring Nationals Series weekend is Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56. The entry fee is $100 per night plus a transponder rental if needed.
