(Senoia, GA – September 30, 2018)  Hundreds of fans turned out Saturday night for the Senoia Raceway ‘Fan Appreciation Night’ and they were treated to a record setting night and witnessed a track first with teenager McKenna Nelms winning her first feature in the Late Model Sportsman division.  Nelms became the youngest female to ever win a main event at the tough 3/8ths mile gumbo clay bull ring.  The Newnan high schooler did it in grand style holding back a late race charge by former track champion Jason Williams to snag the checkered flag in front of a standing ovation in the grandstand.

Other winners on Saturday night included Columbus’ Dalton Cook in the Limited Late Models; Brooks’ ‘Magic’ Matt Dooley in Crate Late Model; Keith West of Powder Springs in the Hobby; Auburn’s JJ Garrett in the Mini; McDonough’s Robbie Wooddall in the Legends Cars; Lucas Pittman of Grantville in the Hot Shots and Dustin Smith in Bomber.

(Senoia, GA – September 16, 2018)  It has been a long road since the beginning of the Senoia Raceway points season back in April.  For some drivers, the road has been a treacherous journey filled with crashes, engine problems and missed opportunities.  For others, it has been a dream season that culminated Saturday night with putting their names in the track’s record books by achieving a season points championship.

“A lot of people do not understand the dedication, skill and luck that it takes to win a championship,” explained track promoter Mayes Massey.  “And the help you need from family and friends, the sacrifice it takes from those closest to you and many times additional funds that were not budgeted when the season started this past spring.  It is pretty awesome to win a title and these guys deserve all the accolades they will receive.”

The racing schedule also includes the USCS 600 Mini Sprint Series, Limited Late Models, Crate Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby, Bomber, Mini and Hot Shot racing action.

The track has also scheduled a first time appearance by North Carolina's Jeremy Mayfield.  The former NASCAR Cup Series stand-out will be racing in the Late Model Sportsman division this Saturday.  After being ousted from NASCAR competition for an apparent drug test violation, Mayfield endured a lengthy court battle with the huge sanctioning body fighting for his innocence.  He continues to compete at short tracks in the Carolinas and Georgia and will make his first-ever start this weekend at Senoia Raceway.
